Description
This large mural of Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg appears on the side of a building in Bristol, England. It was painted in May, 2019 for Upfest, Europe's largest street art festival. Thunberg had received worldwide notoriety for her climate activism, including solo strikes that sparked the global youth #FridaysForFuture movement. In keeping with the ecologically responsible message of the piece, the artist explained on his Instagram that "65-70% of the wall was painted with water based paint with an electric spray gun powered by the Tobacco Factories solar cells. I used a minimum of conventional spray paint - around 25 full cans I’ve counted as this was a big consideration given the theme of the wall."
